Attorney with a Passion for Winning Cases
Attorney Curtis Howard brings a lifelong passion for criminal defense work to the legal team. Regardless of the situation, Curtis recognizes that his role as a defense attorney is not to judge his client’s situations, but rather to fight for his clients with the goal of a complete dismissal of all charges.
Together with the partners at Spaulding & Campi Criminal Attorneys, Mr. Howard handles both felony and misdemeanor cases and has achieved excellent results in cases involving shoplifting, domestic violence, assault and battery and DUI. He has handled cases in Sacramento and the surrounding area, including Yolo, Yuba, Sutter, Placer, Solano, San Joaquin and El Dorado.
In every case, Curtis and the legal team begin by working with clients to develop a defense strategy that protects their rights and pushes for dismissal of charges. Curtis recognizes that being accused of a crime is stressful and he is passionate about communicating with his clients to keep them appraised of each stage of their case. Mr. Howard is skilled with suppression motions and preliminary hearings, and enjoys the challenge of in court arguments.
Curtis also has experience with the state legislative process and has been an active participant in getting bills made into laws. This means that Curtis knows the intricacy of the lawmaking process and understands how the criminal code can effect people’s lives. He was the Head Assembly Desk Intern with the Chief Clerks Office and that is where he gained his love of the law.
Giving Back to the Community
Curtis has always focused on public interest law and is committed to giving back to his community. He volunteers his time at My Sisters House focusing on Human Trafficking Awareness. He also provides MCLE lectures at Ulrich, Nash and Gump on a wide range of topics and interests.
Curtis did an exemplary job. He was early, updated me on the progress of how things were going, and was able to think on his feet and competently argue an unanticipated issue that came up. I will absolutely use him again and would strongly encourage others to as well. Thank you Curtis!
